Do schools kill creativity?

     In this video, Ken Robinson talking about creativity. His contention is that creativity is as important in education as literacy and we should treated with the same status. Now, more and more parents teach their children not to make mistakes. If they always make mistakes, parents will scold them, they become frightened being wrong. As the time goes by, children will lost their creativity capacity. It is a terrible thing for the children. When they grow up, they will face the difficult to find a job. At past, if you have a Bachelor degree, you can find a good job, but now you want a good job, you need a higher degree than before. 
      I think the schools kill the creativity. From I went to primary school, we were forced to learn what the schools or parents want us to learn. We need to follow the schools' schedule and we cannot change anything. We studied for taking the test. Until now, there are still have millions of the students study for test, not for themselves. I think the schools really influence our creativity. We just allow to do the normal things instead of the creative things. This makes us lost a lot of fun. People should focus on the education, let children have more chance to do some creative things rather than just read the book and follow the schools' schedule. 

Spring Break Began with the Earthquake

    This is my first spring break in California. Before the spring break, I made a lot of plans for the nine days break. I thought I can get a very happy and relax time for myself, however, the spring break began with the earthquake.
        At that night, I was playing ipad games on my bed. Suddenly, I felt a little dizzy. Everything began to shake and some of them fell on the floor. I thought it was a earthquake, but I am not afraid about the earthquake. I went out of my house and talked with my neighbors. After a while, I thought it was safe to go back. Then I found the earthquake did not stop. There were several times of earthquakes at that night, but I didn't run out of home. I just stayed in bed.
        Maybe you are confused about why I am not afraid of the earthquake. The reason is that I have met many times of earthquakes in my hometown. Some of them are similar with this earthquake. In 2008, there was a very big earthquake which happened in Sichuan province of China. Many people lost their lives in that earthquake. Even though my hometown is far from Sichuan, we still fell the hit. 
        When my parents heard about the earthquake, they called me as soon as possible. The earthquake did not make me feel nervous, but really make my parents worried about me. At the same time, I thought it is not a good beginning for the spring break. 

A special experience for Tom

      Tom is a famous mountain biking player, who got a lot of praise from the different mountain biking competitions. He likes biking when he was young, and his mother encouraged him to do what he likes. At that time, he just rode his bike around his house. Sometimes he also sent the newspapers and milks to his neighbors.When he grows up, he began to do the mountain biking. He thought it is more interesting and exciting, so he decided to be a professional mountain biking player.
      He likes biking indifferent mountains. Usually he will ride his bicycle alone, that makes him feel happy. One day, he found a beautiful mountain which has a big waterfall. There are a lot of trees and it is a good place for him to ride bicycle. When he went through the forest, he found a person lying on the road. He went to see the people, that is a woman who was in a coma. He picked her up and sent her to the hospital. He took care of her three days until she waked up. She said her name is Alice and she was a hiking player. When she hiking that mountain, suddenly she had a bad headache. That made she fell down.
       After that, they always go to the same place for biking and hiking. A few years later, they got married and built a big house on the mountain which is the first place they met each other.

Modesty helps people to go forward.

       When I was child, I was interested in math. I always read the math textbook and do a lot of exercises. So sometimes, I didn't like listening the math class. Because I have learned before my teacher taught us. At that time, my classmates always asked me some questions about the math. I could taught them how to solve these problem and this made me very proud of myself. However, my mother thought it is bad for me. She thought I was cocksure about the math. Maybe one day, I will meet big problem in math. But in my mind, it will never happen.

         After a period of time, the math is becoming more and more difficult. Sometimes I also need to spend more time on solving the problem, nonetheless, I still thought I could handle the math and I didn't need to listen the math class. Finally, I got a bad score in my math final exam. The score made me cry the whole night.

          After that, I think my mother is right. We cannot make ourselves over confidence. Modesty is very important for us. Over confidence always make us cannot see our shortcomings. So we must keep modesty all the time. 



Rome wasn't built in a day

   This proverb is important in my life. When I was a child, my mother always told me, if you want to reach your  goal, you must do your best and insist on doing it. Because Rome wasn't built in a day. At that time, I cannot understand it clearly. Because I didn't have any goals, I just want to have a happy life. 
       As the time went by, I began to know what is the meaning of this sentence. When I was in my high school, we had a English speech competition. I joined in the competition and thought I can get a good rank. Because I started to learn English when I was 12. I had a lot of confidence to win the competition. I prepared the speech materials carefully, practiced every night. I let my mother sit in front of me, so when I did the practice, she can gave me some advice. Unsurprisingly, I got a good rank in the competition. I told my mother this good news and I began to know the meaning of Rome wasn't built in a day. 
        So this proverb give me a lot of encourage. I can do my best to reach my goal. Now, the most important thing for me is to get a good score in the GMAT exam. I hope I can reach this goal as soon as possible.

    I came to America in last August. I think Fullerton is a beautiful city and I love here. But I don't like American food. Because the American food always have a big size. It is too much for me. I don't want to become fat! So keep healthy is very important for me.

    Besides that, I like Fullerton's weather. It always warm and sunny. I can see a lot of flowers in every season. This makes me very happy. One of my professor said "why the price of California's houses is expensive? Because you pay for the scenery which out of your window." I think it is true.
